Stage 1: Application
To be considered you must provide us with the information set out in the application form by no later than 1 March 2010. This information will be used by ATE for those purposes set out in the privacy policy.
Submissions for the first short-list will be based upon the content of your Music MySpace page only. Please ensure your Music MySpace page is fully up-to-date and contains as much detail as possible - including pictures, songs and details of gigs etc.The more information available the more chance ATE has to make a full evaluation of the submission.
You will only be considered on the strength of original songs and music. Please therefore make it clear on your MySpace page if any of the songs you are performing are not original and/or not written by you. You should be aware that you should have a licence and permission from the publishers/authors of any works not written by you before you can post this on your MySpace page.
You must also add yourself as a friend on BritBus’ MySpace page by 1 March 2010.
Stage 2: Artist Short-Listing
The initial short-listing will be undertaken in association with the Six Finger Think Tank in New York.
Submissions will be sent to internationally recognised music university A&R panels in BritBus’ key touring markets around the world.
It will be at ATE’s discretion which submissions are sent to which universities.
Each university will provide a detailed analysis on the submissions, with recommended suggestions to ATE. All decisions made on submissions will be confidential and you will not be given access to any reports or comments made in relation to your act.
Following the initial A&R process, ATE will draw up a shortlist of artists to be invited to perform at the UK Showcase Selection Tour. Invitations will be emailed to the successful artists no later than 1 May 2010.
We hope to see as many artists as possible at this stage of the process.
Stage 3: Regional Showcases
Artists invited to perform at the regional showcase will perform in front of an independent review panel appointed by ATE.
These events will be open to the public and artists are encouraged to invite all their supporters.
Following the UK Showcase Selection Tour and based upon the assessments conducted in stage 2, the performance and feedback from the independent panel at the regional showcases, ATE will draw up a further shortlist within 14 days of the conclusion of the UK Showcase Selection Tour.
Stage 4: Evaluation Period
Those included within the shortlist following the UK Showcase Selection Tour will be required to enter into a final evaluation period. This is simply a period of discussion, contract agreement and “getting to know you”.
Following this period ATE will make its final choice on band selection.
Those artists taking part in the Showcases will, on request of ATE, enter into a management, publishing and/or production agreements with ATE if required.
Requirements
Before performing at any of the live showcases, invited artists may be required to sign an agreement confirming that if asked by ATE they will enter into one or all of the following:
• a management agreement with ATE

If you appear at any showcase you will be required to sign a waiver permitting ATE, BritBus (and third parties authorised by them) to record your performance and to use such recordings for all purposes in connection with the promotion of BritBus, BritBus’ tours and events, ATMR and future selection processes for such events. You will also be required, at ATE’s request, to take part in reasonable publicity for the BritBus and ATE. This could include being filmed and featured online and being interviewed for publicity purposes.
